Aquacraft_logo_150_dpiAquacraft, Inc., Water Engineering and Management provides professional engineering services in water conservation and planning, water supply development, and system modeling. Aquacraft strives to develop and implement innovative methods for enhancing supplies through better use and management of our most precious resource... water.

Aquacraft is the innovative leader in evaluating water use and conservation effectiveness in the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. Because of the capital requirements and regulatory obstacles inherent in the development of new raw water supplies, Aquacraft offers advanced demand side management and improved system planning.

Aquacraft was founded in 1990 by Bill DeOreo.  In 1994, Peter Mayer and Bill DeOreo met and began working together on the Heatherwood residential end use study.   Based on the success of that project, Peter and Bill decided to become business partners and Aquacraft was incorporated in December 1995.  Bill and Peter are still partners to this day.

Aquacraft's specific expertise includes:

  • End use analysis
  • Water conservation planning
  • Demand forecasting
  • Drought preparedness
  • Water budgets
  • Conservation-oriented rate structures
  • Water use studies
  • Statistical evaluations
  • Conservation program design

In 2011 Aquacraft launched a project to update and expand the 1999 Residential End Uses of Water Study.  This study will investigate water use patterns in residential housing across the US and Canada.  Funded by the Water Research Foundation, the Alliance for Water Efficiency, and a consortium of nine water utilities, this research will build and expand upon the seminal 1999 Residential End Uses of Water study conducted by Aquacraft.
