Alliance for Water Efficiency Appoints Two New Board Members

Business Leaders to Bring Critical Expertise in Water-Efficient Products to Alliance Mission

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE) Board of Directors announced that it has elected Ronald Voglewede, Global Sustainability Director of Whirlpool Corporation and Rob Zimmerman, Senior Channel Manager - Sustainability of Kohler Co., as Directors of AWE.

"The Alliance is thrilled to welcome two accomplished and highly qualified leaders to our Board,” said Mary Ann Dickinson, President and CEO of the Alliance for Water Efficiency. “As the Alliance continues to expand our work to address immediate challenges and protect water supplies for the future, our Board becomes even more vital in providing a strategic vision and guidance. Both of these new Directors are leaders in sustainability, and will bring great energy and needed expertise to our mission to help communities, businesses and individuals be good stewards of our water resources.”

RVhsRonald Voglewede is the Global Sustainability Director of Whirlpool Corporation. Ronald currently directs Whirlpool's North American sustainability strategy and execution, and is responsible for developing and leading the cross category execution plans for energy and sustainability within Whirlpool’s corporate and branded portfolio by creating long term sustainable value.  His over 16 year career has led him to work in various aspects of advanced refrigeration technology, water products strategy, laundry development, air conditioning, and cooking manufacturing. Ronald is a green belt in Operational Excellence (6 Sigma), Certified Innovation Mentor, and recognized inventor and innovator.

RZhsRob Zimmerman is the Senior Channel Manager - Sustainability at Kohler Co., in Kohler, Wisconsin. In his position, he is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing Kohler’s water efficiency and sustainability strategies across all business units and communicating progress to consumers and trade partners. He also helps establish and grow relationships with key non-governmental organizations that are global advocates for health, environmental education, and sustainability.  Rob has presented training sessions on water efficiency at national conferences, written numerous articles for trade publications, and is frequently quoted on water issues in the media.  Rob is a member of the US Green Building Council’s Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance (a chapter of the US Green Building Council), and currently serves as its President. Rob is a LEED Accredited Professional.

The Alliance Board expressed deep appreciation to Susan Stratton and Gunnar Baldwin, transitioning off the board, for their seven years of service each. Ms. Stratton is the Executive Director of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. Mr. Baldwin is a Water Efficiency Specialist at TOTO USA, Inc.

The Alliance for Water Efficiency is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the efficient and sustainable use of water in the United States and Canada. Headquartered in Chicago, the Alliance works with nearly 400 water utilities, water conservation professionals in business and industry, planners, regulators, and consumers.
