USGBC Seeks Comments on LEED 2009

June 22, 2008 Deadline

2008-06-05

The Alliance for Water Efficiency has been working hard over the past several years to ensure that the LEED criteria include a greater emphasis on sustainable water savings.  This is now our chance.  The US Green Building Council (USGBC) has announced a major new initiative to revamp LEED in 2009.  Click here  for detailed information on the types of changes that the Alliance for Water Efficiency is recommending.  We ask that you do two things:

  1. Visit the USGBC web site to comment on LEED 2009.  Feel free to use any of the text that we have prepared for your comments.  Just be sure to file your comments by June 22, 2008.  You do not need to be a member of USGBC to file comments, but you do need to register and follow the instructions on the web site.
  2. Let us know if your organization would be willing to be listed on a formal letter asking USGBC to listen to our recommendations.  If you support all of the statements (click here ) then please email maryann@a4we.org with your organization’s logo and the name of the person who should be listed as supporting the recommendations.  Our goal is to have dozens of organizations sign on to the letter.
