WE_logo_B_stack_outline Water Efficiency focuses primarily on the two main pillars of water efficiency: conserving water resources and protecting water supply. Forester Media believes that the term water efficiency includes not only water-efficient technologies, but also infrastructure issues, energy management, irrigation, storage and distribution, and even public outreach and customer relations.  One glance at the Water Efficiency table of contents reveals the broad reach of the magazine, with tentacles stretching out to embrace product summaries, project spotlights, and features focusing on the larger topics that influence the entire industry.

For example, most issues include at least one article detailing the latest technological advances designed to help monitor water supply status. Recent issues have included a survey piece on the benefits of automatic meter reading and a project profile on the successful implementation of a “Smart” irrigation system.  Water Efficiency has covered everything from desalination to pump scheduling software to geographic information systems.

Water Efficiency Magazine covers a wide variety of topics,  including;

  • Rural and urban AMR and AMI deployment
  • Advanced Irrigation Technologies
  • Large-scale water reuse and reclamation projects
  • System optimization, SCADA, and data integration
  • Infrastructure rehabilitation, repair and construction, including new advances in pipe and pump technologies
  • Audits, leak detection, and unaccounted for water
  • Energy management and the water/energy nexus

Forester Media established Water Efficiency Magazine in order to provide quality content and an editorial focus aimed at fulfilling the needs of readers while also reflecting the opinions and views of the professionals who receive the magazine. Water Efficiency's Editorial Advisory Board help keep Forester Media abreast of relevant trends, developments, and concerns in the industry. Water Efficiency strives to make its editorial pages freely available to all, in the interest of disseminating information to a large audience. Forester Media has expanded the scope and reach of the magazine by updating their Web presence. To that end, there are additional opportunities for participation, including blogs, discussion groups, and other online content.

Water Efficiency, The Journal for Water Resource Management is published six times each year and reaches more than 26,000 readers responsible for minimizing water loss in municipal, industrial, commercial, residential, and agricultural settings.  A limited number of subscriptions are available on a no-charge basis to qualified readers.  To subscribe, visit Forester Media at www.waterefficiency.net

And because water resource management is an elaborate dance between supply and demand, Water Efficiency, The Journal for Water Resource Management introduced a tool designed to help raise public awareness about imbedded water use. Waterprint is a free iPhone/iPad application that calculates the water footprint of many daily activities and products. Forester Media designed the application with a simple-to-navigate interface to help users track their water footprints. Forester's goal with Waterprint is to empower users to reduce their own water use.
