HiRes-Liz_Fazio-1854-SmAWE is pleased to announce that at its Annual Member Meeting in Las Vegas on October 1, 2013 the featured speaker will be Elizabeth Fazio, Director for the Committee on Natural Resources in the Texas House of Representatives.  Her talk, entitled "Betting on the Texas State Water Plan:  A Winning Hand for Conservation and Reuse", will be an insider’s view of the passage of the landmark Texas legislation that awarded $400 million for water conservation and reuse programs.  This is a talk you will want to hear!

AWE’s Annual Member Meeting is held as part of the annual WaterSmart Innovations Conference & Expo  in Las Vegas, Nevada.  All AWE members and prospective members are welcome to attend the Annual Meeting.  Come and mingle with your fellow water conservation professionals at our hosted reception.

Our featured keynote speaker comes well-credentialed to talk about the topic of the Texas legislation.  At the Texas Legislature, Liz serves as the Director for the Committee on Natural Resources in the House of Representatives, where she provides strategic planning for the development of the state's natural resources and water rights.  Liz possesses an expansive skill set and record of accomplishment leading the formulation and execution of public policy, as well as demonstrating financial and legal expertise to drive sustainable change in the preservation and conservation of water resources. 

Prior to serving as Committee Director, Liz served as a Corporate Tax Advisor for KPMG, LLP specializing in international tax procedures and as a legal associate with a leading real estate and corporate law firm in Denver, Colorado. In these roles, Liz participated in several multi-million dollar and multi-national transactional projects. 

Liz holds both her LL.M. in Taxation and her J.D. from University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is a dual-degree graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Government and a B.S. in Communications.
