Drought Resilience Through Turf Reduction and Water Resource Management

Like many Southwestern metropolitan areas, Las Vegas is enduring the impacts of a megadrought affecting the Colorado River. Although Las Vegas is by far the smallest of the communities that share the Colorado River’s flow, the federal government has already curtailed Las Vegas’ water allocation, and additional cuts are impending. The Southern Nevada Water Authority enacted numerous water efficiency initiatives, incentive programs and regulations to minimize non-recoverable uses of water among all sectors. This presentation will discuss the region's water resource challenges and efforts to reduce water use and improve the community's drought resilience.

This webinar is part of the WaterSense and Alliance for Water Efficiency outdoor webinar series.
